Southern 4-Ingredient Butter Dip Biscuits

These Southern Butter Dip Biscuits are soft, fluffy on the inside, and perfectly buttery with a golden crust. Made with just four simple ingredients, they’re one of the easiest biscuit recipes you’ll ever try—no rolling or cutting required.

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 3/4 cups buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup butter (melted)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 220°C (425°F).

Pour the melted butter directly into a baking dish, making sure it evenly coats the bottom.

In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.

Add the buttermilk and stir until just combined. The dough will be soft and slightly sticky.

Transfer the dough directly into the baking dish on top of the melted butter. Gently spread it evenly to the edges.

Using a knife, cut the dough into squares before baking. This makes it easier to separate after baking.

Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the edges are crisp.

Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving.

Serving Suggestions

Serve warm with butter, honey, or jam. They’re also perfect alongside soups, stews, or fried chicken.

These biscuits are rich, buttery, and incredibly easy—classic Southern comfort with minimal effort.
