HOMEMADE GARLIC DINNER ROLLS

These Homemade Garlic Dinner Rolls are soft, fluffy, and brushed with rich garlic butter. Perfect for family dinners, holidays, or alongside soups and pasta, they’re warm, comforting, and packed with flavor.

Ingredients

For the dough:

  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast (1 packet)
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup butter (melted)
  • 1 egg

For the garlic butter:

  • 3 tablespoons butter (melted)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley (optional)
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

In a small bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Stir gently and let it sit for about 5–10 minutes until it becomes foamy. This step activates the yeast.

In a large mixing bowl, add the flour and salt. Mix briefly to combine.

Add the melted butter, egg, and the activated yeast mixture into the flour. Mix until a soft dough forms.

Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead for about 8–10 minutes until the dough becomes smooth and elastic. If the dough is too sticky, add a small amount of flour gradually.

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a clean towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 to 1.5 hours, or until it doubles in size.

Once risen, punch down the dough to release air. Divide it into equal portions and shape into small balls.

Place the dough balls into a greased baking dish, leaving a little space between each one.

Cover and let them rise again for 30–40 minutes until puffy.

Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).

Bake the rolls for 18–22 minutes, or until they are golden brown on top.

While the rolls are baking, mix the melted butter with minced garlic, parsley, and a pinch of salt.

Remove the rolls from the oven and immediately brush them with the garlic butter while still warm.

Serving Suggestions

Serve warm with butter, alongside soups, pasta, or roasted meats. They’re also perfect for sliders or sandwiches.

These rolls are soft, buttery, and full of garlic flavor—freshly baked comfort at its best.
