WW Stuffed Cheese Balls

These stuffed cheese balls are a delicious snack with a crispy golden coating and a warm, creamy cheese center. They are easy to prepare and make a great appetizer, snack, or party treat.

The combination of a crunchy exterior and melted cheese inside makes every bite satisfying. For a lighter version, they can also be baked or cooked in an air fryer instead of deep-fried.

Ingredients

  • 200 g light mozzarella or low-fat cheese
  • 1 medium potato, cooked and mashed
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • A small amount of cooking spray or olive oil

Instructions

  1. Cook the potato until tender, then mash it until smooth and allow it to cool slightly.
  2. Cut the mozzarella or cheese into small cubes for the filling.
  3. In a bowl, combine the mashed potato, Parmesan, parsley, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  4. Take a small portion of the potato mixture and flatten it in your hand.
  5. Place a cube of cheese in the center and carefully shape the mixture around it, completely covering the cheese.
  6. Repeat until all the mixture and cheese have been used.
  7. Dip each ball into beaten egg, then coat thoroughly with breadcrumbs.
  8. Place the coated cheese balls on a lined baking tray.
  9. Lightly spray them with cooking oil.
  10. Bake at 200°C (400°F) for about 15 to 20 minutes, turning halfway through, until golden and crisp.
  11. Let them rest for a few minutes before serving so the cheese is hot and melted but not too runny.

Air Fryer Method

Place the cheese balls in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Lightly spray with oil and cook at 190°C (375°F) for about 10 to 12 minutes, turning halfway through.

Tips for the Best Cheese Balls

Make sure the cheese is completely sealed inside each ball so it does not escape during cooking.

Chilling the shaped balls for 15 to 20 minutes before coating and cooking can help them keep their shape.

For extra crunch, use seasoned breadcrumbs or panko breadcrumbs.

Serve warm with a light yogurt dip, tomato sauce, or your favorite dipping sauce.

These stuffed cheese balls are crispy on the outside, soft and creamy inside, and perfect when you want a comforting snack without making a complicated recipe.
