This Slow Cooker Garlic Butter Chicken is incredibly juicy, rich, and packed with flavor. The chicken cooks slowly in a buttery garlic sauce, locking in moisture and creating tender, melt-in-your-mouth bites. It’s an easy, hands-off recipe that delivers restaurant-quality taste with minimal effort.
Ingredients
- 2 large chicken breasts or 4 chicken thighs
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 3 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice (optional)
- Fresh parsley (optional)
Instructions
Season the chicken on both sides with salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning.
Cut two large pieces of aluminum foil and place each piece inside the slow cooker to form small “boats” or packets. This helps keep the chicken juicy and concentrates the flavor.
Place the seasoned chicken into the foil.
In a small bowl, mix the melted butter with the minced garlic and lemon juice. Pour this mixture evenly over each piece of chicken.
Fold the foil loosely around the chicken to seal in the juices, but leave a little space for heat circulation.
Cover the slow cooker with the lid and cook on low for 4–5 hours or on high for 2–3 hours, until the chicken is fully cooked and tender.
Carefully open the foil packets (watch for steam), spoon some of the buttery sauce over the chicken, and let it rest for a few minutes before serving.
Serving Suggestions
Serve with rice, mashed potatoes, or roasted vegetables to soak up the garlic butter sauce. It also pairs well with pasta or a fresh salad.
This dish is rich, simple, and full of flavor—perfect for an easy dinner that feels special without extra work.
