Four Onion Dip

This Four Onion Dip is rich, creamy, and packed with deep, savory flavor from layers of onion goodness. By combining different types of onions, you get a complex, slightly sweet, and incredibly satisfying dip that’s perfect for parties, snacks, or gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 large yellow onion (finely chopped)
  • 2 green onions (sliced)
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup cream cheese (softened)
  • 1 tablespoon dried onion flakes
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the chopped yellow onion in a small amount of oil or butter. Stir occasionally and cook for about 8–10 minutes until the onions become soft and lightly caramelized. This step enhances the sweetness and depth of flavor.

Remove the onions from the heat and let them cool completely.

In a mixing bowl, combine the sour cream, mayonnaise, and softened cream cheese. Mix until smooth and creamy.

Add the cooled caramelized onions, sliced green onions, dried onion flakes, and garlic powder. Stir well to combine all the flavors.

Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

Cover the dip and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving. This allows the flavors to fully develop and blend together.

Before serving, give the dip a quick stir and adjust seasoning if needed.

Serving Suggestions

Serve chilled with chips, crackers, fresh vegetables, or toasted bread.

This dip is creamy, savory, and full of rich onion flavor—perfect for any occasion and guaranteed to be a crowd favorite.
