Low-Carb Cheese Buns

These low-carb cheese buns are fluffy, cheesy, and perfectly golden — ideal for breakfast sandwiches, burgers, or simply as a keto-friendly snack!

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tbsp cream cheese
  • 1 cup almond flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 large egg
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional for extra flavor)
  • Pinch of salt and garlic powder (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven: to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Melt the cheeses: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt mozzarella and cream cheese together for about 1 minute. Stir until smooth.
  3. Mix the dough: Add almond flour, baking powder, and egg to the melted cheese mixture. Mix well until a sticky dough forms.
  4. Shape the buns: Divide the dough into 5–6 portions and roll them into balls. Flatten slightly on the baking sheet.
  5. Add cheddar topping (optional): Sprinkle shredded cheddar on top for a golden crust.
  6. Bake: for 15–18 minutes, until golden brown and firm to the touch.
  7. Cool slightly: before serving — the texture improves as they rest!

Serving Ideas:

  • Slice in half and fill with burger patties or breakfast eggs.
  • Serve alongside soups or salads.
  • Toast lightly for extra crispiness!
