Ingredients

  • 1 bag (32 oz / 900 g) frozen shredded hash browns, thawed
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 can (10.5 oz / 300 g) cream of chicken soup
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper

Topping

  • 2 cups cornflakes, lightly crushed
  • 3 tbsp melted butter

Instructions

  1. Prepare the oven and dish
    Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9Ɨ13-inch (23Ɨ33 cm) baking dish.
  2. Mix the creamy base
    In a large bowl, combine the sour cream, cream of chicken soup, melted butter, salt, and black pepper. Stir until smooth.
  3. Add potatoes and cheese
    Fold in the thawed hash browns and shredded cheddar cheese until evenly coated.
