Southern Potluck Buckeye Dip

This Southern Potluck Buckeye Dip takes the beloved flavors of classic buckeye candies—rich peanut butter and chocolate—and turns them into an irresistibly creamy dessert dip. It’s quick to make, no-bake, and always disappears fast at parties, church suppers, and family potlucks.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz (225 g) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1½ cups whipped topping
  • ½ cup mini chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Make the peanut butter base
In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and peanut butter together until smooth, creamy, and fully blended.
  2. Sweeten the dip
Add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract. Beat again until well combined and fluffy.
  3. Fold in whipped topping
Gently fold in the whipped topping using a spatula. This keeps the dip light and airy.
  4. Add chocolate chips
Stir in the mini chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  5. Chill and serve
Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
  6. Serve
Serve chilled with graham crackers, pretzels, vanilla wafers, apple slices, or strawberries.

✨ Tip: For a more authentic buckeye look, drizzle melted chocolate over the top just before serving.
