These Rotel Cream Cheese Sausage Balls are a flavorful twist on the classic appetizer. Theyāre tender, cheesy, lightly spicy, and perfect for parties, game days, or easy snacking.
Ingredients
- 1 lb breakfast sausage (mild or hot)
- 1 can Rotel diced tomatoes with green chilies, well drained
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 1/2 cups baking mix (such as Bisquick)
Instructions
Step 1: Mix the Base
In a large bowl, combine the raw sausage and softened cream cheese. Mix thoroughly until smooth and well blended.
Step 2: Add Rotel and Cheese
Stir in the drained Rotel and the shredded cheddar cheese. Mix until evenly incorporated.
Step 3: Add Baking Mix
Add the baking mix gradually, stirring until the mixture forms a thick, workable dough. If it feels too sticky, add a little more baking mix.
Step 4: Shape the Sausage Balls
Roll the mixture into 1-inch balls and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
Step 5: Bake
Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20 to 25 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
Step 6: Serve
Serve warm. These sausage balls can also be reheated or frozen for later.
