Pretzels with Butter Toffee

Pretzels with Butter Toffee are a sweet and salty treat that combines crunchy pretzels with rich, buttery toffee. This easy dessert is perfect for parties, holiday gift-giving, or a quick indulgent snack that everyone will love.

Ingredients

  • 1 bag (about 12 oz) mini pretzels
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (milk, semi-sweet, or white chocolate, optional for drizzling)

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare Baking Sheet

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
Spread the mini pretzels in an even single layer on the baking sheet.

Step 2: Make the Butter Toffee

In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
Stir in the brown sugar and salt, and cook for 3–4 minutes, stirring constantly until the sugar dissolves and the mixture is smooth.
Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.

Step 3: Pour Toffee over Pretzels

Carefully pour the hot toffee mixture evenly over the pretzels, making sure most pretzels are coated.
If using chopped nuts, sprinkle them evenly over the top.

Step 4: Bake

Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven for 5–7 minutes.
Watch carefully; the toffee should bubble and lightly caramelize but not burn.

Step 5: Cool and Optional Chocolate Drizzle

Remove from the oven and let the pretzels cool for 10 minutes.
If desired, melt the chocolate chips in a microwave or double boiler, then drizzle over the cooled toffee pretzels.
Allow the chocolate to set completely.

Step 6: Serve and Store

Break apart any clusters once cooled.
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week.

These Pretzels with Butter Toffee are a perfect combination of sweet, salty, and crunchy—ideal for snacking or gifting.
