Banana Coffee Cream Dessert

This Banana Coffee Cream Dessert is a luscious combination of sweet bananas, rich coffee, and creamy textures. It’s elegant enough for special occasions yet simple enough for a cozy treat at home. Layered in individual glasses, it’s visually appealing and irresistibly delicious.

Ingredients

Coffee Cream Layer:

  • 50 ml cream (20% fat)
  • 15 g coffee (instant or brewed)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla sugar
  • 100 g ricotta cheese
  • 100 g condensed milk

Banana Custard Layer:

  • 2 bananas
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 150 ml milk
  • 20 g cornstarch

Whipped Cream:

  • 150 ml whipping cream

For Decoration:

  • Chocolate, grated or shaved

Instructions

1. Prepare the Coffee Cream
In a small saucepan over low heat, combine the cream, coffee, and vanilla sugar. Stir until the coffee dissolves completely. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
In a separate bowl, mix the coffee cream with ricotta cheese and condensed milk until smooth and creamy. Set aside.

2. Prepare the Banana Layer
Peel and mash the bananas in a bowl until smooth. Stir in the egg yolk until fully combined.

3. Make the Custard
In a small saucepan, heat the milk over medium heat. Gradually add the cornstarch while stirring constantly to prevent lumps. Cook until the mixture thickens. Remove from heat and combine it with the banana and egg mixture to create a silky banana custard. Allow it to cool slightly.

4. Whip the Cream
In a chilled bowl, whip the cream until soft peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the coffee cream mixture for a light and airy texture.

5. Assemble the Dessert
In individual serving glasses, layer the banana custard first, then spoon the coffee cream mixture on top. Repeat layers if your glasses are tall enough.

6. Chill and Decorate
Refrigerate the assembled desserts for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld. Before serving, garnish with grated or shaved chocolate for an elegant finish.

Pro Tips

  • For a stronger coffee flavor, use espresso instead of instant coffee.
  • You can add a splash of coffee liqueur for an adult version.
  • Use ripe bananas for maximum sweetness and smooth texture.
  • Make this dessert a few hours in advance — the flavors improve as it chills.
