Grandma Pat’s Bacon Rolls

Crispy, buttery, and irresistibly nostalgic

Grandma Pat’s Bacon Rolls are the kind of simple, homestyle treat that always brings people back for more. Soft dough wrapped around smoky bacon, brushed with butter, and baked until golden—these rolls are perfect for breakfast, brunch, potlucks, or holiday mornings when comfort food rules the table.

Ingredients

1 can refrigerated crescent roll dough or biscuit dough
8 slices bacon
3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
1 tablespoon brown sugar
½ teaspoon black pepper
Optional: pinch of garlic powder or paprika

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a baking dish or line it with parchment paper to prevent sticking.

If using crescent roll dough, separate it into individual triangles. If using biscuit dough, flatten each biscuit gently into a rectangle using your hands or a rolling pin.

Cut each slice of bacon in half so it fits neatly inside the dough. Place one piece of bacon along the wide end of each dough piece.

Starting from the wide end, roll the dough up snugly around the bacon, tucking the edges slightly as you roll so the bacon stays enclosed. Place the rolls seam-side down in the prepared baking dish, leaving a little space between each one.

In a small bowl, mix the melted butter with brown sugar, black pepper, and any optional seasoning. Brush this mixture generously over the tops and sides of each roll to help them brown and caramelize.

Bake uncovered for 18–22 minutes, or until the rolls are golden brown and the bacon is fully cooked. If the tops brown too quickly, loosely cover with foil for the last few minutes of baking.

Remove from the oven and let the rolls rest for 3–5 minutes. This allows the butter glaze to settle and makes them easier to handle.

Serve warm straight from the dish for the best flavor and texture.

Tips

Use thin-cut bacon so it cooks evenly with the dough.
Brushing butter twice—before and halfway through baking—adds extra flavor.
Best enjoyed fresh, but leftovers reheat well in the oven.
