Deviled Ham Salad is a classic, creamy spread with a savory kick. Perfect for sandwiches, crackers, or lettuce wraps, this old-fashioned recipe is quick to make and full of bold, comforting flavor.
Ingredients
- 2 cups cooked ham, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1 teaspoon Dijon or yellow mustard
- 1 tablespoon sweet pickle relish
- 1 tablespoon finely chopped onion
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice or apple cider vinegar
Instructions
1. Prepare the Ham
Chop the cooked ham very finely using a knife or food processor.
The finer the ham, the smoother and more spreadable the salad will be.
2. Mix the Dressing
In a medium bowl, combine the mayonnaise, mustard, relish, chopped onion, paprika, cayenne pepper if using, black pepper, and lemon juice.
Stir until smooth and well blended.
3. Combine
Add the chopped ham to the dressing.
Mix thoroughly until the ham is evenly coated and the mixture is creamy.
4. Chill
Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to blend.
5. Serve
Serve as a sandwich filling, on crackers, or with celery sticks.
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
