Crispy Beef and Cheese Stuffed Rolls

These Crispy Beef and Cheese Stuffed Rolls are golden, crunchy on the outside, and irresistibly cheesy on the inside. Filled with well-seasoned beef and melted cheese, they’re perfect as an appetizer, party snack, or a satisfying comfort-food meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450 g) ground beef
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp ground cumin (optional)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese
  • 12 spring roll wrappers or egg roll wrappers
  • 1 egg, beaten (for sealing)
  • Vegetable oil, for frying

Instructions

  1. Cook the beef filling
    Heat a skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon. Add the chopped onion and cook for 2–3 minutes until softened. Stir in the garlic, salt, black pepper, paprika, and cumin. Cook for another minute, then remove from heat and let the mixture cool slightly. Once cooled, mix in the shredded cheese.
  2. Assemble the rolls
    Lay one wrapper on a clean surface with a corner facing you. Place 2–3 tablespoons of the beef and cheese mixture near the bottom edge. Fold the bottom corner over the filling, fold in the sides, then roll tightly upward. Brush the top corner with beaten egg to seal. Repeat with remaining wrappers and filling.
  3. Heat the oil
    In a deep pan or skillet, heat about 1½ inches of vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C). The oil should be hot enough that a small piece of wrapper sizzles immediately.
  4. Fry until crispy
    Carefully place the rolls into the hot oil, a few at a time. Fry for 3–4 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden brown and crispy on all sides.
  5. Drain and serve
    Remove the rolls with a slotted spoon and place on paper towels to drain excess oil. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.

✨ Tip: For a lighter option, brush the rolls with oil and bake at 400°F (200°C) for 18–20 minutes, turning once, until crisp and golden.
