Creamy Frozen Raisin Dessert

Rich, smooth, and old-fashioned comfort in every spoon

This Creamy Frozen Raisin Dessert is a simple, nostalgic treat made with milk, cream, and sweet raisins frozen into a velvety, scoopable texture. It’s somewhere between ice cream and kulfi, with a dense, creamy body and little bursts of sweetness from the raisins. No fancy equipment, no baking—just pure comfort.

Ingredients

2 cups whole milk
1 cup heavy cream
½ cup sweetened condensed milk
½ cup raisins
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Pinch of salt

Instructions

Pour the milk into a saucepan and heat over medium heat until it begins to steam, stirring occasionally. Do not let it boil. Reduce the heat to low and simmer gently for 10–12 minutes, stirring often, until the milk reduces slightly and becomes richer.

Add the heavy cream to the saucepan and continue to cook for another 5 minutes, stirring constantly to prevent sticking. The mixture should look slightly thickened but still pourable.

Stir in the sweetened condensed milk, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Mix well until fully combined, then remove from heat.

Add the raisins while the mixture is still warm and stir to distribute them evenly. Allow the mixture to cool completely at room temperature.

Once cooled, pour the mixture into serving cups, glasses, or a freezer-safe container. Cover and place in the freezer for at least 6 hours, or until fully set.

For a creamy, scoopable texture, remove the dessert from the freezer 5–10 minutes before serving. Serve straight from the cup or scoop into bowls.

Tips

Stir the mixture once halfway through freezing for a smoother texture.
Soak the raisins in warm milk for 10 minutes before adding for extra softness.
This dessert keeps well in the freezer for up to one week.
