A cozy, home-style dinner featuring tender pork chops baked in a rich, creamy sauce with soft, flavorful potatoes. Easy, comforting, and perfect for family meals.
Ingredients
- 4–6 bone-in or boneless pork chops
- 4 cups sliced potatoes (Yukon gold or russet)
- 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup milk
- 1 packet onion soup mix
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon butter (optional, for richer sauce)
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
Step 2: Layer the Potatoes
Arrange the sliced potatoes evenly in the bottom of the baking dish. Add the sliced onions over the top.
Step 3: Season the Pork Chops
Season pork chops with garlic powder and black pepper. Place them on top of the potatoes.
Step 4: Make the Sauce
In a bowl, whisk together the cream of mushroom soup, milk, and onion soup mix. Add butter if desired. Pour this mixture evenly over the pork chops and potatoes.
Step 5: Bake
Cover the dish tightly with foil.
Bake for 50–60 minutes, until potatoes are tender and pork chops are cooked through.
Remove foil and bake an additional 10 minutes to thicken the sauce.
Step 6: Serve
Let rest for 5 minutes before serving. Plate with the creamy potatoes and sauce spooned over the top.
