Cheesy Texas Toast

Thick, buttery, golden, and loaded with melty cheese—this Cheesy Texas Toast is the perfect quick side for pasta, soups, salads, or anytime you’re craving something warm and comforting. It takes just minutes to prepare and delivers big flavor every time.

Ingredients

Texas toast bread slices – 8
Unsalted butter (softened) – ½ cup
Garlic powder – 1 teaspoon
Dried parsley – 1 teaspoon
Shredded mozzarella cheese – 1 cup
Shredded cheddar cheese – 1 cup
Salt – A pinch (optional)

Instructions

Prepare the garlic butter
In a small bowl, mix the softened butter with garlic powder and dried parsley. If you like extra flavor, add a pinch of salt.

Butter the bread
Spread a generous layer of the garlic butter mixture over one side of each Texas toast slice, making sure you reach all the edges.

Add the cheese
In another bowl, combine the mozzarella and cheddar cheeses. Sprinkle a thick, even layer of the cheese mixture on top of each buttered slice.

Toast the bread
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Arrange the slices on a baking sheet, cheese-side up. Bake for 8–10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly toasted and the cheese is fully melted and bubbly.
For a crispier top, switch to broil during the last 1–2 minutes—just keep a close eye on it.

Serve
Remove from the oven and let the toast cool for a minute. Serve warm and enjoy the cheesy, buttery goodness with your favorite meal.
