Cheesy Texas Toast

Ingredients:

  • 1 loaf Texas toast (thick-cut bread slices)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven: Set to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper.
  2. Prepare garlic butter: In a small bowl, mix softened butter with minced garlic, garlic powder, salt, and parsley.
  3. Spread and layer: Evenly spread the garlic butter mixture over each slice of Texas toast. Sprinkle generously with mozzarella, cheddar, and Parmesan cheeses.
  4. Bake: Arrange the slices on the baking sheet and bake for 8–10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  5. Broil (optional): For a golden, crispy top, broil for 1–2 minutes, keeping a close eye to prevent burning.
  6. Serve: Enjoy hot as a side for pasta, soups, or your favorite comfort meals.

Pro Tip: For a flavor upgrade, sprinkle a pinch of Italian seasoning or red pepper flakes before baking for a cheesy, garlicky kick.
