Caramel Peanut Ritz Cracker Treats are a sweet, salty, and crunchy delight thatās easy to make with just a few ingredients. Layers of buttery crackers, gooey caramel, and roasted peanuts create a treat perfect for parties, holidays, or anytime you crave a quick homemade dessert.
Ingredients
- 1 sleeve Ritz crackers (about 24 crackers)
- 1 cup salted peanuts, roasted
- 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Optional: 1 cup chocolate chips for topping
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat and Prepare
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
Arrange a single layer of Ritz crackers on the bottom of the pan.
Step 2: Make the Caramel Sauce
In a medium saucepan, combine butter and brown sugar over medium heat.
Cook, stirring frequently, until the sugar dissolves and the mixture comes to a gentle boil.
Allow it to simmer for 2ā3 minutes, then remove from heat and stir in the sweetened condensed milk, vanilla extract, and salt until smooth.
Step 3: Layer the Treats
Pour half of the caramel mixture evenly over the first layer of crackers.
Sprinkle half of the roasted peanuts on top.
Add another layer of Ritz crackers and pour the remaining caramel over them.
Top with the remaining peanuts.
Step 4: Optional Chocolate Topping
If using chocolate chips, sprinkle them evenly over the warm caramel.
Let them sit for a minute, then spread into a smooth layer using a spatula.
Step 5: Chill
Refrigerate the treat for at least 2 hours, or until firm and set.
Step 6: Cut and Serve
Remove from the pan using the parchment paper.
Cut into bars or squares and serve.
