Antipasto squares are a savory, crowd-pleasing appetizer loaded with Italian meats, cheese, and peppers, all baked into soft, flavorful layers. They are perfect for parties, potlucks, or an easy dinner served with a salad.
Ingredients
Refrigerated crescent roll dough 2 cans
Sliced ham 1/2 pound
Sliced salami 1/2 pound
Sliced pepperoni 1/2 pound
Provolone cheese slices 8 ounces
Roasted red peppers, drained and sliced 1 cup
Banana peppers, sliced 1/2 cup
Unsalted butter, melted 4 tablespoons
Italian seasoning 1 teaspoon
Garlic powder 1/2 teaspoon
Grated Parmesan cheese 1/4 cup
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat the oven
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
Step 2: Prepare the bottom layer
Unroll one can of crescent roll dough and press it into the bottom of the baking dish, pinching the seams together to form an even layer that covers the bottom completely.
Step 3: Layer the fillings
Evenly layer the ham over the dough, followed by the salami and pepperoni. Place the provolone cheese slices evenly on top of the meats. Scatter the roasted red peppers and banana peppers evenly over the cheese.
Step 4: Add the top layer
Unroll the second can of crescent roll dough and carefully place it over the filling. Gently press the seams together and tuck in the edges to seal.
Step 5: Season the top
In a small bowl, mix the melted butter, Italian seasoning, and garlic powder. Brush this mixture evenly over the top layer of dough. Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese evenly on top.
Step 6: Bake
Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the dough is fully cooked through.
Step 7: Cool and slice
Remove from the oven and let rest for 10 minutes. This helps the layers set and makes slicing easier.
Step 8: Serve
Cut into squares and serve warm or at room temperature.
Tips
These squares can be made ahead and reheated gently in the oven.
You can customize the meats or cheeses based on preference.
Leftovers store well in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
