| Onion (chopped) | 1 small | Adds sweetness and flavor |
| Garlic (minced) | 2 cloves | Optional but recommended |
| Pizza sauce | 1 cup | Or use marinara sauce |
| Italian seasoning | 1 teaspoon | Or oregano and basil mix |
| Salt and pepper | To taste | |
| Shredded mozzarella | 1 ½ cups | Divided |
| Cheddar cheese | ½ cup | Optional, for a sharper flavor |
| Refrigerated biscuit dough or pie crust | 1 package | You can also make homemade dough |

| Olive oil | 1 tablespoon | For brushing the crust |
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9-inch pie dish lightly with butter or oil. - Cook the Beef Mixture
In a skillet, cook ground beef and chopped onion over medium heat until the beef is browned and onions are tender. Drain excess fat. - Add Flavor
Stir in garlic, pizza sauce, and Italian seasoning. Let it simmer for 3–4 minutes until the mixture thickens slightly. Season with salt and pepper to taste. - Assemble the Base
If using biscuit dough, press the biscuits into the bottom and sides of the pie dish, overlapping slightly to form a crust.
If using pie crust, fit it into the dish and trim any excess. - Layer the Filling
Spoon the beef mixture evenly into the crust. Sprinkle 1 cup mozzarella and cheddar over the top. Add pepperoni slices if desired. - Bake the Pie
Bake for 20–25 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly. - Add Final Touches
Sprinkle with the remaining ½ cup mozzarella, brush the crust edges lightly with olive oil, and bake for another 5 minutes to melt the cheese beautifully. - Cool Slightly and Serve
Let the pie cool for 5–10 minutes before slicing. Serve warm with a side salad or garlic bread.
Serving Tips
- Top with fresh basil or parsley for color and freshness.
- Add mushrooms, olives, or bell peppers to make it even more “pizza-like.”
- Great for leftovers — just reheat in the oven to keep the crust crispy.
