Instructions

1. Preheat and Prep

Preheat oven to 400ยฐF (200ยฐC).
Line a rimmed baking sheet (10×15-inch) with aluminum foil or parchment paper and lightly spray with nonstick cooking spray.
Arrange the crackers in a single layer, edge to edge, covering the entire pan.

2. Make the Caramel Sauce

In a medium saucepan, melt butter and brown sugar together over medium heat, stirring constantly.
Once melted and smooth, bring to a gentle boil and cook for 3 minutes, stirring occasionally until thickened and bubbly.

3. Pour and Bake

Carefully pour the hot caramel evenly over the crackers, using a spatula to spread it to all edges.
Bake in the preheated oven for 5 minutes, or until the caramel is bubbling across the surface.

4. Add Chocolate

Remove the pan from the oven and immediately sprinkle chocolate chips over the hot caramel.
Let them sit for 2โ€“3 minutes, then use a spatula to spread the melted chocolate evenly across the top.

5. Finish and Chill

Sprinkle sea salt flakes (and any optional toppings) over the chocolate layer.
Refrigerate or freeze the pan for 30โ€“45 minutes, until completely firm.

6. Break and Serve

Once set, peel off the foil or parchment and break the toffee into bite-sized pieces.
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week (if it lasts that long!).

Tips for Perfection

  • Cracker options: Try graham crackers for a sweeter version or Club crackers for extra buttery flavor.
  • Topping ideas: Toasted almonds, pecans, or even a drizzle of white chocolate make it fancy.
  • Holiday twist: Add festive sprinkles for Christmas or heart-shaped candies for Valentineโ€™s Day.
