Instructions
- Preheat Oven
Set your oven to 425°F (220°C) and position the rack in the middle. - Prepare the Apple Filling
In a large bowl, combine:- Sliced apples
- Granulated and brown sugar
- Flour
- Cinnamon
- Nutmeg
- Lemon juice
Toss well until apples are evenly coated.
- Assemble the Pie
Roll out one crust into a 9-inch pie dish. Gently press to fit.
Pour the apple filling into the crust and dot with butter cubes.
Cover with the second crust, sealing edges with your fingers or a fork. Cut small slits on top to let steam escape. - Brush & Sprinkle
Mix the beaten egg with milk or cream.
Brush over the top crust and sprinkle with sugar for a golden, glossy finish. - Bake
Bake at 425°F (220°C) for 20 minutes, then reduce to 375°F (190°C) and bake for another 30ā35 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the filling is bubbly. - Cool & Serve
Let the pie cool for at least 2 hours before slicing to allow the filling to set.
Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream for the ultimate experience.
