5-Ingredient Slow Cooker Angel Chicken

Creamy, comforting, and unbelievably easy

Slow Cooker Angel Chicken is one of those cozy, no-fail meals that feels like a warm hug at the end of the day. Tender chicken slowly cooks in a rich, creamy sauce made with just a handful of pantry staples. It’s perfect over pasta, rice, or mashed potatoes and guaranteed to become a repeat favorite.

Ingredients

2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1 packet dry Italian seasoning mix
1 can cream of chicken soup (10.5 oz)
8 ounces cream cheese, softened and cubed
¼ cup unsalted butter, sliced

Instructions

Place the chicken breasts in a single layer at the bottom of the slow cooker. If the pieces are thick, you can lightly flatten them so they cook evenly and absorb more flavor.

Sprinkle the Italian seasoning mix evenly over the chicken, making sure all pieces are coated. This seasoning provides most of the flavor, so spread it well.

Spoon the cream of chicken soup over the seasoned chicken. Use the back of the spoon to gently spread it so the chicken is fully covered, which helps keep it moist during cooking.

Scatter the cream cheese cubes evenly across the top, then lay the butter slices over everything. As the dish cooks, these will melt down into a smooth, creamy sauce.

Cover and cook on low for 6–7 hours or on high for 3–4 hours. The chicken should be very tender and easy to shred with a fork.

About 20 minutes before serving, gently stir the sauce to fully combine the melted cream cheese, butter, and soup. If the chicken breasts are large, you can lightly shred them in the slow cooker or leave them whole.

Taste the sauce and adjust seasoning if needed. The texture should be thick, creamy, and spoonable. If it’s thicker than you prefer, stir in a few tablespoons of warm water or milk.

Serve hot over pasta, rice, or mashed potatoes, spooning plenty of the creamy sauce over the top.

Serving Tips

Angel Chicken pairs especially well with egg noodles or linguine. Add steamed broccoli, green beans, or a simple side salad to balance the richness.

Storage Notes

Leftovers keep well refrigerated for up to 3 days and reheat gently without drying out.
