This 4-Ingredient Cheesy Pull-Apart Potluck Casserole is the ultimate no-fuss dish for gatherings. Soft bread baked in buttery layers with loads of gooey cheese creates a pull-apart masterpiece everyone will hover around. Simple ingredients, big comfort, and guaranteed empty dish.
Ingredients
1 round loaf of bread or 1 loaf soft white bread
2 cups shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese
½ cup unsalted butter, melted
1 teaspoon garlic powder
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a casserole dish large enough to hold the bread snugly.
Using a sharp knife, cut the bread in a crisscross pattern, slicing almost all the way through but keeping the bottom intact. This creates pockets for the cheese and butter to melt into.
Gently pull the bread apart with your fingers to open the cuts. Sprinkle the shredded cheese evenly into the cracks, pushing it down slightly so it reaches deep inside the loaf.
Mix the melted butter with the garlic powder. Slowly drizzle the garlic butter over the entire loaf, allowing it to seep into the cuts and coat the top.
Place the stuffed bread into the prepared casserole dish. Cover loosely with foil and bake for 15 minutes so the cheese melts thoroughly inside.
Remove the foil and continue baking for another 10–15 minutes, until the top is golden brown and the cheese is bubbling and stretchy.
Remove from the oven and let the casserole rest for 5 minutes before serving. This helps the cheese set slightly while staying perfectly gooey.
Serve warm and pull apart piece by piece.
Tips
Use freshly shredded cheese for best melt.
Do not cut all the way through the bread or it will fall apart.
Serve immediately for maximum cheese stretch.
