Chocolate Chip Cream Cheese Cookies

These Chocolate Chip Cream Cheese Cookies are soft, rich, and irresistibly tender with a slight tang that balances the sweetness perfectly. The cream cheese makes them extra moist, while the chocolate chips add classic, melty goodness—ideal for cookie trays, holidays, or everyday treats.

Ingredients

½ cup unsalted butter, softened
4 oz cream cheese, softened
¾ cup sugar
1 large egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
1¾ cups all-purpose flour
½ tsp baking powder
¼ tsp salt
1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

Preheat the oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Cream the butter and cream cheese
In a large bowl, beat the butter and cream cheese together until smooth and creamy.

Add sugar and wet ingredients
Mix in the sugar until light and fluffy. Add the egg and vanilla extract, beating until well combined.

Combine dry ingredients
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.

Make the dough
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing just until a soft dough forms. Fold in the chocolate chips.

Shape the cookies
Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough and place them on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

Bake
Bake for 12–14 minutes, until the edges are set and the bottoms are lightly golden. The centers will remain soft.

Cool and serve
Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Tip: For extra-soft cookies, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking.
