These Grandma’s Classic Chocolate Crispy Bars are a timeless no-bake favorite—rich, chocolatey, and wonderfully crunchy. With simple pantry ingredients and quick prep, they’re perfect for bake sales, potlucks, or an easy homemade treat that tastes just like childhood.

Ingredients

  • 6 cups crispy rice cereal
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • ½ cup creamy peanut butter
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1½ cups powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Prepare the pan
Line an 8×8-inch (20×20 cm) pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it. Set aside.
  2. Melt the chocolate mixture
In a medium saucepan over low heat, combine the chocolate chips, peanut butter, and butter. Stir constantly until fully melted and smooth. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
  3. Add powdered sugar
Gradually stir in the powdered sugar until the mixture thickens and becomes glossy. Mix well to avoid lumps.
  4. Fold in cereal
Add the crispy rice cereal to the chocolate mixture. Gently fold until all the cereal is evenly coated without crushing it.
  5. Press into the pan
Transfer the mixture to the prepared pan. Press it down evenly using a spatula or lightly greased hands.
  6. Chill and set
Refrigerate for 1–2 hours, or until firm enough to cut cleanly.
  7. Slice and serve
Cut into bars or squares and serve.

Tip: For extra richness, drizzle melted chocolate over the top before chilling or sprinkle with a pinch of sea salt for contrast.
