Turkey Pockets with Deli Turkey

These turkey pockets are a quick, satisfying meal made with deli turkey, melty cheese, and soft dough baked until golden. Perfect for lunch, dinner, or meal prep, they are easy to customize and come together with simple ingredients you likely already have.

Ingredients

Refrigerated pizza dough or crescent dough 1 package
Deli turkey slices 8 to 10 slices
Shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese 1 1/2 cups
Cream cheese softened 4 ounces
Garlic powder 1/2 teaspoon
Black pepper 1/4 teaspoon
Italian seasoning 1/2 teaspoon
Egg 1 large
Water 1 tablespoon

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat the oven
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it to prevent sticking.

Step 2: Prepare the filling
In a small bowl, mix the softened cream cheese with garlic powder, black pepper, and Italian seasoning until smooth and well combined.

Step 3: Prepare the dough
Unroll the pizza dough or crescent dough on a lightly floured surface. If using pizza dough, cut it into 6 equal rectangles. If using crescent dough, separate it into triangles and gently stretch them slightly wider.

Step 4: Assemble the turkey pockets
Spread a thin layer of the seasoned cream cheese in the center of each piece of dough. Layer deli turkey slices on top, folding them to fit neatly. Sprinkle shredded cheese evenly over the turkey.

Step 5: Seal the pockets
Fold the dough over the filling to form a pocket. Press the edges firmly with your fingers or a fork to seal completely so the filling does not leak out during baking.

Step 6: Egg wash
In a small bowl, whisk together the egg and water. Brush the tops of each pocket lightly with the egg wash for a golden finish.

Step 7: Bake
Place the turkey pockets on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each one. Bake for 18 to 22 minutes, or until the dough is puffed and golden brown.

Step 8: Cool and serve
Remove from the oven and let cool for 5 minutes before serving. The filling will be hot inside. Serve warm on its own or with a side salad, soup, or dipping sauce.

Tips
You can add spinach, caramelized onions, or mustard for extra flavor.
These reheat well in the oven or air fryer for a crisp exterior.
Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
