Crispy fried pickle chips are the perfect salty, tangy snack for parties, game days, or anytime you want a crunchy appetizer. Theyāre quick to make and always a crowd-pleaser.
Ingredients
- 1 jar dill pickle chips, drained
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup buttermilk
- Oil for frying
Instructions
1. Prepare the Pickles
Drain the pickle chips well. Pat them dry with paper towels to help the coating stick and ensure crispiness.
2. Make the Seasoned Flour
In a bowl, combine flour, garlic powder, paprika, black pepper, and salt. Mix until evenly blended.
3. Heat the Oil
Pour oil into a deep skillet or pot, about 1 to 2 inches deep. Heat to 350°F (175°C).
4. Coat the Pickles
Dip each pickle chip into the buttermilk, letting excess drip off.
Dredge the pickle chip in the seasoned flour, coating all sides.
For extra crispy pickles, repeat the buttermilk and flour steps a second time.
5. Fry Until Golden
Carefully place coated pickles into the hot oil in batches.
Fry for 2 to 3 minutes, turning if needed, until crisp and golden brown.
Remove and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.
6. Serve
Serve warm with ranch dressing, spicy mayo, or your favorite dipping sauce.
