Ingredients

For the Cinnamon-Apple Mixture

  • 2 large apples, peeled and diced
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar

For the Batter

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 cup milk

For the Cinnamon Swirl

  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

For the Glaze

  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1–2 tablespoons milk

Instructions

1. Prepare the Apple Mixture

In a small bowl, combine the diced apples with cinnamon and sugar. Mix well and set aside.

2. Make the Batter

In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and granulated sugar together until creamy.
Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
Stir in the vanilla extract.
In a separate bowl, whisk the flour and baking powder.
Add half of the dry mixture to the butter mixture.
Pour in the milk and mix.
Add the remaining dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Do not overmix.

3. Make the Cinnamon Swirl

Combine the brown sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl.

4. Assemble the Bread

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
Grease and line a loaf pan with parchment paper.
Pour half of the batter into the pan.
Spoon half of the apple mixture over it.
Sprinkle half of the cinnamon swirl mixture on top.
Repeat the layers with the remaining batter, apples, and cinnamon mixture.
Use a knife to gently swirl the top.

5. Bake

Bake for 55 to 65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
If the top browns too quickly, cover lightly with foil during the last 15 minutes of baking.

6. Glaze

Mix powdered sugar with milk until smooth.
Drizzle the glaze over the bread while it is warm but not hot.

7. Cool and Serve

Allow the bread to cool for at least 20 to 30 minutes before slicing.
