Heaven on Earth Cake

Heaven on Earth Cake is a no-bake, crowd-pleasing dessert made with layers of angel food cake, creamy vanilla pudding, sweet cherry pie filling, and a fluffy whipped topping. It’s refreshing, easy to assemble, and perfect for potlucks, holidays, or anytime you need a quick dessert that looks beautiful with almost no effort.

Ingredients

  • 1 prepared angel food cake, cut into cubes
  • 1 can (21 oz) cherry pie filling
  • 1 package (3.4 oz) instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 1 ½ cups cold milk
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 tub (8 oz) whipped topping, thawed
  • Optional garnish: sliced almonds, extra pie filling, or fresh cherries

Instructions

1. Prepare the Pudding Layer

  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together the instant vanilla pudding mix, milk, and sour cream until smooth and thick.
  • Set aside.

2. Layer the Angel Food Cake

  • In a 9Ɨ13-inch dish, spread half of the cubed angel food cake in an even layer.

3. Add Cherry Filling

  • Spoon half of the cherry pie filling over the cake cubes.
  • Add the remaining cake cubes on top.

4. Spread the Pudding Mixture

  • Pour the pudding mixture evenly over the top layer of cake.
  • Use a spatula to spread it smooth.

5. Add Whipped Topping

  • Spread the whipped topping over the pudding layer.

6. Finish with Cherry Swirls

  • Dollop the remaining cherry pie filling on top and gently swirl it into the whipped topping with a spoon.

7. Chill

  • Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight for best texture and flavor.

Tips for the Perfect Cake

  • Replace cherry filling with blueberry, raspberry, or strawberry pie filling for different flavors.
  • Use Greek yogurt instead of sour cream for extra tang.
  • Chill overnight if you want a firmer, fully set dessert.
