Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 3 to 4 large potatoes, thinly sliced
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: chopped parsley for garnish
Instructions
1. Cook the Beef
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a skillet, cook the ground beef with diced onion until the meat is browned.
- Drain excess fat. Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
2. Prepare the Sauce
In a bowl, whisk together the cream of mushroom soup and milk until smooth.
3. Assemble the Casserole
- Grease a 9Ć13-inch baking dish.
- Layer half of the thinly sliced potatoes on the bottom.
- Spread half of the cooked beef mixture over the potatoes.
- Pour half of the soup mixture over the beef.
- Repeat with remaining potatoes, beef, and sauce.
- Cover the dish with foil.
4. Bake
- Bake covered for 1 hour.
- Remove foil, sprinkle cheddar cheese on top, and bake an additional 20ā25 minutes until the potatoes are tender and the cheese is melted and bubbling.
5. Serve
Let rest for 10 minutes, garnish with parsley if desired, and serve warm.
