Slow Cooker 3-Ingredient Apple Cinnamon Dump Cake
This Slow Cooker 3-Ingredient Apple Cinnamon Dump Cake is the easiest cozy dessert you can make. With warm apples, a buttery cinnamon topping, and no mixing required, it cooks into a soft, gooey, comforting treat perfect for fall, holidays, or any day you want a fuss-free dessert. Just dump the ingredients in, turn on the slow cooker, and let it do all the work.
Ingredients
- 2 cans (20 oz each) apple pie filling
- 1 box (15.25 oz) cinnamon or spice cake mix
- 1 stick (½ cup) unsalted butter, melted
Instructions
- Spray the inside of your slow cooker with a light layer of nonstick cooking spray to prevent sticking.
- Pour the apple pie filling into the bottom of the slow cooker and spread it evenly so the apples cover the entire base.
- Sprinkle the dry cake mix evenly over the apples. Do not stir; simply let it sit on top like a layer.
- Slowly drizzle the melted butter over the cake mix, trying to cover as much of the surface as possible. The butter helps the topping cook into a golden, slightly crisp crust.
- Place the lid on the slow cooker and cook on high for 2½ to 3 hours or on low for 4 to 5 hours. The cake is ready when the top looks set and the edges begin to turn golden.
- Once done, turn off the heat and let the dessert rest for 10 minutes. This helps it thicken and makes serving easier.
- Scoop into bowls and serve warm on its own or topped with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
