3-Ingredient Cake Mix Cobbler

This unbelievably easy cobbler uses just three pantry ingredients and comes out bubbly, sweet, and delicious every time. Perfect for last-minute guests or a quick family treat!

Ingredients

IngredientQuantity
Frozen fruit (peaches, mixed berries, strawberries, etc.)1 bag (about 24 oz / 680 g)
Cake mix (yellow, white, or vanilla)1 box (about 15.25 oz / 432 g)
Butter (unsalted), sliced1 cup (2 sticks / 226 g)

Optional: ½ cup chopped nuts, cinnamon, or a drizzle of caramel.

Instructions

1. Prepare the baking dish

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Lightly grease a 9Ɨ13-inch baking dish with butter or non-stick spray.

2. Add the fruit

  • Pour the frozen fruit straight into the baking dish — no need to thaw.
  • Spread it evenly so you have a flat layer covering the bottom.

3. Add the dry cake mix

  • Sprinkle the dry cake mix evenly over the frozen fruit.
  • Don’t mix it — just cover the fruit completely like a blanket.

4. Add butter

  • Slice the butter into thin pieces (about ⅛–¼ inch thick).
  • Lay the butter slices all over the top of the cake mix so most of the surface is covered.

Tip: The butter melts while baking and mixes with the cake mix to create the cobbler topping.

5. Bake

  • Place the dish in the oven and bake for 45–50 minutes.
  • The top should look golden brown and the fruit will be bubbling around the edges.

6. Cool and serve

  • Let the cobbler sit for 10–15 minutes so the juices thicken a bit.
  • Serve warm — amazing with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
